Fun with flying, Freefall #5!

Though last minute, I decided I couldn't let a year go by without
participating in my annual jump! Operation Freefall is what gave me my
life back after my assault, and helped me find the strength and drive
to get back on my feet and LIVE again! I made a commitment to myself
after my first freefall, that I would participate in this event every
year, for myself, for my sisters and for survivors of sexual violence everywhere.

Operation Freefall founder Kellie Greene is a dear friend of mine with
whom I have been fortunate enough to work on several projects for
survivors. She is dedicated, selfless and amazing. I am thrilled to
help her, and everyone involved, once again make this event a huge
success! Won't you do the same? No donation is too small or
insignificant and it all goes to an amazing cause.

Please take a moment to sponsor me. It's really easy - you can donate
online by credit card and receive a record of your donation. No
donation is too small!

Date with myself!

Tonight I planned a date with myself. This afternoon I bought myself some nice dark chocolate and got some for my girlfriend as well, which I delivered to her at her downtown shop where we both enjoyed a late afternoon glass of Cabernet/ Shiraz. Then I did some errands and made it home, where I tidied up the apartment - just as if I was having company or a "real" date - and started on dinner. I was showered and wearing my most favorite lounging attire, I opened my wine and began to cook: Moroccan Eggplant with Garbanzo Beans, leaving out the raisins. The ingredients just looked amazing as I began that I had to take a picture, inspired by my friend Ruthie's post from not long ago.

Here is my evening:

... and it was lovely. Though I did end up with a plane ticket to Tampa in exactly one week. I may not put out, but I do lavish myself with nice gifts.

Good things take time, GREAT things happen all at once!

Holy shit, I am going to Operation Freefall!

I leave a week from today...

Celebrity Sighting!

Celebrity chef Rocco Dispirito was here on island for the annual Taste of St. Croix. I was unable to attend Taste because of my rehearsal schedule, but I made it to the book signing for his new book Rocco's Real Life Recipes. Wasn't really interested in the book, just the gorgeous and delicious chef himself. Got a couple pictures and flirted a bit, but it was nuts!

New Place!

Still working on getting everything exactly where I want it, but I am close and I thought I would share some photos.

Funny, I forgot how living mid-island is. I am about a 5 minute drive (if that) from where Bryan and I owned our condo. What I forgot was how you hear everything... such as car chases and emergency vehicles leaving the hospital. I still love this place, there is something very real and true about it, something I can't quite express, but I love the feel of it. It feels like home - and nothing has felt like home in years.
